Are you looking to compare SkyDrive vs. GDrive? At least cautiously referred to as GDrive, the service will be Google's first alternative to services like Microsoft's SkyDrive. The name of the Google is famous all over the world. Whatever Google launches the new products in the market, the rumors of Google are at the hit the highest point. Sometimes the report comes out to be true as is the case of Google's upcoming operating system Chrome OS.
The latest news about the rumored product is the fabled ‘GDrive’; it is billed as the general purpose cloud storage service for the company. It offers similar functionality in various services. 1 GB of storage for photos and videos offers by Picasa and Gmail boasts a storage space of 7.5 GB and counting and also allowing users to save every email and attachment they ever received.
Google Docs allows users to upload documents and even photos. Google Docs now supports four kinds of files like Documents, Spreadsheets, Presentations and PDFs. Though, the recent update changed the PDF label to the general 'Files' one.
GDrive allows you to access your files from anywhere, anytime, and from any device. Two new icons were exposed in the Docs code. With the Chrome logo, and most likely part of the upcoming OS, one is a folder icon which will depend heavily on cloud apps and storage. And the second one is with the youtube logo hinting at some kind of integration of that service too.
Windows Live SkyDrive is a free service that provides 25 GB of free storage over the Internet. Before Google will release something similar, it is only a matter of time. The fact that it is taking so long may indicate that it is waiting to have a united experience across all Google services before releasing the product.
