Metro Vancouver’s regional transportation authority is TransLink. It was created in 1998 and it is known as the Greater Vancouver Transportation Authority, or GVTA. Two companies operate Buses in Metro Vancouver. The regional transportation network of Metro Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada, including public transport and major roads and bridges is provided by TransLink which is the South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority. It provides transportation in the Metro Vancouver region and in some of the areas of Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD).

TransLink has vast network of buses, trolleys and community shuttles link to various hubs, exchanges, SkyTrain stations and tourist destinations throughout Metro Vancouver. If you want to get bus schedule then go to www.TransLink.ca and click on Schedules and map option, which is situated at the top navigations. You can get bus schedule by entering bus route number or by selecting a route using the drop down menu, then select date and time range of start and end of your travel then click on get schedule option.

Bus Fares:

When you click on fares navigation at www.TransLink.ca, you can see different kinds of fares. For Vancouver Bus fares, you have to click on single fares option. Buses require exact coin fare. You can travel for up to 90 minutes across the Lower Mainland by buying a single fare. You can skip off for errands and then skip back on again. You can travel for one, two or three zones by bus, and SeaBus. You have to purchase Tickets separately for West Coast due to their prices is different.

Concession Fares:

Children, who are 5 to 13 years old, secondary students ages 14 to 19 with a valid GoCard, seniors 65+ with proof of age and HandyCard holders riding conventional transit can apply for concession fares because these people can travel at a reduced price. Concession fares are not valid on HandyDART. Regular adult fares apply on HandyDART regardless of age. When Children of 4 years age and younger were accompanied by an adult, they ride for free. CNIB and War Amputee pass holders also ride for free with proof of identity.

At www.TransLink.ca, 2010 Games Transit Pass is available for unlimited bus and SeaBus during the 2010 Winter Games. When you travel for Games events, use your 2010 Olympic or Paralympic ticket for unlimited travel on bus means the day of the event through to early hours the next morning.
